Five for Friday

It is that time again, FRIDAY!!!  One of my favorite days of the week and what a great way to end the week on Valentine’s Day.
Up first I want to share with you my newest digital paper pack that I recently added to my TpT shop.  I added it just in time for Read Across America.   I can’t wait to use it on some of my Dr. Seuss activities that I will do with my kiddos.  I think this may be my favorite pack yet.! The solid colors are distressed and textured, which I love when digital paper has that look to it.   Be sure to snag it up for all your Dr. Seuss activities coming up.  How do you celebrate Read Across America?  Leading up to the big day we have a “Wacky” dress day for each day of the week and then on that Friday we rotate through stations/teachers with different activities and books.  It is such a fun day for the teachers and kids.
I stuffed Valentine’s treats for the girls’ and my class.   My students are getting treat cups with candy, lip whistles, and pencils.  The girls are giving whoopee cushions with their cards.  Their Valentine’s cards were a freebie from Rachelle at What the Teacher Wants.

Some of you may have already seen these on my Instagram page, but I am posting again.  This past weekend my girls had their Daddy Daughter Dance at school.   It was a really big deal to them.  They were so excited to get all fancied up!!!  They have another Daddy Daughter Dance this weekend this time for our church.  My youngest informed me she may need another dress since this is another special occasion, I told her my wallet disagrees with her.  She will be wearing her same dress again!!!!
A dozen of roses from the hubs for Valentine’s Day – melt my heart!!!  They were so pretty!!
My friend posted this on Facebook and I just had to share.  With all this cold weather I am definitely missing the sun and my annual beach vacation!!!!   I am ready to book my beach front home for the week and bring on the warmer temps.  Hurry up summer!!!!
That about wraps it up for me!!!  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

Your girls are just precious! Love their dresses. I can't wait for the sunshine to come out so I can start hitting the beach here. It's been so beautiful and looks inviting, but still too chilly for me!

I go through spurts. I have times where I check in often and then I will be MIA for a few weeks. I try to sit and squeeze in an hour in here and there once everyone is in the bed or before everyone gets up!!! The weekends are the best because my kids LOVE to play outside with the neighborhood kids so they are constantly in and out playing. So if the weather is nice I can usually catch up on my blogging. Thanks for stopping by!!!

This is how many students act in 2026. Teachers will identify with every single one of the students I portray here. Funny teacher video.

So what is this you might ask? It is my last minute version of a craft for Ground Hogโ€™s Day. I canโ€™t be the only one who decides the day of to do a craft and wing it, right? It looks more like a bear๐Ÿคฃbut it was suppose to be a groundhog with facts about Ground Hogโ€™s Day. No directions required just pull construction paper and glue. Youโ€™re welcome!๐Ÿ˜‰ ... One of my most favorite boards in my classroom is this ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป bulletin board right here! This is how it looks at the beginning of each year. As the year progresses I hang student art work and writings up. At the end of the year I take the work off and it is in order, neat and tidy, and students now have a portfolio of their best 2nd grade work. The bright folders I use to match my classroom theme are cut in half and the sign is just typed up in PowerPoint.

Here is a link to the bright file folders I used on this board (I use the extra folders to keep stuff stored in my filing cabinet): amzn.to/4mS2GhY
