September Currently

I am linking up with Farley for her September Currently.  I love doing these every month.  It is so fun to see what everyone else has going on!

Listening:
The hubs has some crime movie blaring in the background.  I have asked him to turn it down, but it must be so loud he can’t hear me.  I swear I think his hearing is getting worse {maybe it is selective hearing}!
Loving:
I am loving the extra day off.  Everyone could use a little extra rest.
Thinking:
I need to get a few more units ready for the new reading series we just started this year.  Starting over with new stuff can be a pain trying to get all your new materials organized.
Wanting:
Although winter is my favorite season {mostly due to all the pretty clothes, such as warm sweaters}I always miss summer.  I want it to hang on just a tad longer so we can get in a few more weeks of boating on the lake.   We went out once this weekend and had a blast pulling the girls around on the tube and wake board.
Needing:
I need to grade a stack of papers I brought home, but can’t seem to muster up the energy to do it.
I Would Love {Personal Goals}:
1. I would love to reorganize my closet.  It is not bad by any means, but I could stand to weed out a few things.
2.  Try to always enjoying the little things:  Just go with the flow.
3.  I would love to have one more extra day to snuggle up on the couch with the kiddos.  We have watched a movie every night so far on this three day weekend.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  I can’t wait to read your currently!

Glad to find your blog through the September Currently. Although we have the day off tomorrow, I'll still be going in to school. We start our year on Tuesday, so I just want to make sure that everything is ready for when school opens.

And in terms of summer ending…I'm so ready for it to end. I can't wait for some cooler weather to come in, as it has been way too hot these past few days. But remember…summer doesn't end until the Autumnal Equinox on Sept 22nd. So technically…summer is hanging on just a tad bit longer 🙂

Love your goal of go with the flow! Sometimes, things get so crazy, it's hard to do. I need to keep reminding myself of this. My motto this school year is, "Be a duck! Just let it roll off your back!" Very hard for me, so I have to remind myself a lot! LoL! Our next 3 day weekend is in October…already looking forward to it! 🙂

One of my most favorite boards in my classroom is this 👇🏻 bulletin board right here! This is how it looks at the beginning of each year. As the year progresses I hang student art work and writings up. At the end of the year I take the work off and it is in order, neat and tidy, and students now have a portfolio of their best 2nd grade work. The bright folders I use to match my classroom theme are cut in half and the sign is just typed up in PowerPoint.

Here is a link to the bright file folders I used on this board (I use the extra folders to keep stuff stored in my filing cabinet): amzn.to/4mS2GhY
