Whew – finally finished! It is complete, proofread, edited, and finally finished {a few days late}! For the TpT challenge I decided to make a Johnny Appleseed Print-and-Go with Craftivity set for “Big Kids”. I decided to do this, because I know that my second graders and many upper elementary grades still like to listen to a Johnny Appleseed story and they still like to learn about Johnny’s life. But I wanted to cover skills that were geared toward upper elementary age group. I notice a lot of the products out there are more for the age range of PreK-1. They are super cute and fun, but I really needed something that was more age appropriate for my students.
In this set you will receive an activity that introduces time lines. The students cut out important events in Johnny Appleseed’s life and glue them in the correct order on the time line.
There is also a a comprehension page with discussion questions. The reading level is geared toward upper elementary.
Of course you need a concept map!
Let’s face it we all need to cover fact and opinion. So that is included too!
The craftivity involves a writing activity. They will assembly Johnny Appleseed and then write about his life. I have include lined apple paper {I prefer to use loose leaf, but that is just me} just in case you need it.
