Five for Friday

I love Fridays and Saturdays because sometimes it is the only chance I get to link up.  Below is my Five for Friday!!!!

I finally joined in the ranks of all my fellow blogger buddies, I caught the crud.   By Thursday I was in the doctors office with fever and a bacterial infection.  To be honest I am surprised I held out this long.  Usually within the first two weeks of school I have caught something.  After two shots and a round of antibiotics I was feeling much better.

A friend of my posted this on her Facebook page.  Raise your hand if this has ever been you!!!!!
I had to put this up because every time I look at it I smile.  When I send graded papers home, I attach a form where the parents and student signs.  The student then assesses their own work and writes in their comments.  This is what one my cuties wrote for her assessment of her work.   I agree with her too, there’s nothing wrong with a little confidence.   And again I am reminded why I love second graders.
I just wrote a post about PLC meetings.  To read it click here!!!   At my school we have weekly PLC meetings were we discuss data and other topics that need discussing.  To get a blank copy of my PLC agenda just click on the picture.  Feel free to take it and make it your own!!!
How do you keep your student’s cleaned up and organized?  Every Friday we have what I call, “Tidy Friday”!  Now don’t laugh to hard, but with a little southern drawl these two words almost rhyme.   The kids get so excited on Friday when I say in my most excited voice, “TIDY FRIDAY”!!!!!  I have yet to figure out why this excites them.   After they leave to go home, I put one of the cute little notes on their desk for them to see on Monday morning.   I found these on the blog All Students Can Shine.   Valerie has some really cute ideas on her blog.  And these cute little tags were a freebie.  Click on the picture to be taken to the link.
Well that about sums it up for my Five for Friday!!!!  As always thanks for taking a peek!!  I would love to hear from you {I heart comments and followers}!!!!!!

Oh what a lovely read this was. That assessment comment your cutie wrote was definitely worth sharing for the fact she wrote "BAM" on it haha! Brimming with confidence.

I use little whiteboard timers at the end of the day or during lessons as a mini break. I do my magic eyes (I just close my eyes but the fun you can have with little ones is great!) and by the time I open them I expect all pencils, paper, e.t.c to be either away, on tables or in the bin. I try to keep on top of it all the time. They know I'm not one for rubbish. If something's on the floor after I've asked so many times for it to be moved it goes right in the bin! But Tidy Friday sounds great!

    Best wishes,
    Becky

Hi Jamie! I just found your blog. It is adorable! Love the colors. I am sick, too- so I get it. It is in my eyes and I look like I am crying all the time. LOVELY. I wish I had half the confidence of your little cutie! BAM! That would be awesome!
    Happy Weekend!

This is how many students act in 2026. Teachers will identify with every single one of the students I portray here. Funny teacher video.

So what is this you might ask? It is my last minute version of a craft for Ground Hog’s Day. I can’t be the only one who decides the day of to do a craft and wing it, right? It looks more like a bear🤣but it was suppose to be a groundhog with facts about Ground Hog’s Day. No directions required just pull construction paper and glue. You’re welcome!😉 ... See MoreSee Less

One of my most favorite boards in my classroom is this 👇🏻 bulletin board right here! This is how it looks at the beginning of each year. As the year progresses I hang student art work and writings up. At the end of the year I take the work off and it is in order, neat and tidy, and students now have a portfolio of their best 2nd grade work. The bright folders I use to match my classroom theme are cut in half and the sign is just typed up in PowerPoint.

Here is a link to the bright file folders I used on this board (I use the extra folders to keep stuff stored in my filing cabinet): amzn.to/4mS2GhY
