Five for Friday

It has been about 3 weeks since I last linked up with Five for Friday {too much going on}.  Plus I keep forgetting to take pictures.  Just trying to survive all the craziness that the holidays bring.

A friend of my posted this on Facebook.   Oh my goodness, this young girl’s voice is unbelievable!  Her voice and this song are both so beautiful.  When I watch her sing I am mesmerized at how such a powerful voice can come out of a small child.

I am lovin’ all the Christmas themed book reports that are starting to come.  I had the kids to pick their favorite Christmas story and write a kid friendly report about their book.  My class really loves to make crafts.  So this works out perfectly, a little creativity involved with a little academics.  This is from my TpT shop, Christmas Tree Themed Book Reports.

My own little cutie came home from school with both of her front teeth missing.  She is officially snaggletooth, but it is sure cute!!!

Many schools, including mine, has Disguise the Turkey for Thanksgiving.  However, my grade host Disguise the Snowman.  These are a few pics of the snowmen coming in from my students.  Some of them are really creative.

We recently had Book Character Dress Up Day at my school.  This is an event that the entire school participates in.  You might wonder why a lot of my photos of my class is always pics of girls.  Well, most of my class is girls {poor boys}.  I only have a hand full of boys in my class.  Believe me, there can be major drama with 7-8 year old girls {but I love em’ anyways}.
As always thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!  I can’t wait to read your Five for Friday.   I {heart} comments and followers!!

Jamie, I just found your blog today and watched the video of Jackie singing. You are totally write – what a voice! Before I became a teacher, I was a music major for four years. After listening to her, I think I'm going to give up singing. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you so much for sharing!

This is how many students act in 2026. Teachers will identify with every single one of the students I portray here. Funny teacher video.

So what is this you might ask? It is my last minute version of a craft for Ground Hogโ€™s Day. I canโ€™t be the only one who decides the day of to do a craft and wing it, right? It looks more like a bear๐Ÿคฃbut it was suppose to be a groundhog with facts about Ground Hogโ€™s Day. No directions required just pull construction paper and glue. Youโ€™re welcome!๐Ÿ˜‰ ... One of my most favorite boards in my classroom is this ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป bulletin board right here! This is how it looks at the beginning of each year. As the year progresses I hang student art work and writings up. At the end of the year I take the work off and it is in order, neat and tidy, and students now have a portfolio of their best 2nd grade work. The bright folders I use to match my classroom theme are cut in half and the sign is just typed up in PowerPoint.

Here is a link to the bright file folders I used on this board (I use the extra folders to keep stuff stored in my filing cabinet): amzn.to/4mS2GhY
