Did you know that James Garfield was the first left handed president?? It is true! I know because we have been learning about different presidents these past few days. This is just going to be a quick little post to share with you a few of the things we did for Presidents’ Day. I know it is a little late, but better late than never.
Up first we completed a George Washington and Abe Lincoln craft/writing. I had the class to write a short paragraph about each president listing facts they have learned.
Next we practiced putting dates in order and in the process learned some really weird but true facts about different presidents.
Last we made silhouettes of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. On one side we glued facts and on the other we glued symbols that represent that president. We then discussed what each symbol represented.
My class also was assigned a president report. They each had to research a president and they will present their reports on Friday. I can’t wait to see and hear what all they have learned.
