Saturday Snapshots {Linky Party}

Well I survived a second week of school {whoop, whoop for me}!!!!   Yesterday I posted a sweet story about a couple of my students that reminded me how sweet kids can be.  To check it out click here.  Now on to my Saturday Snapshots for the week.
Can you say “N” is for neon.  My youngest just started first grade.  She brought home her first project last week.  Each kid in the class was assigned a letter of the alphabet.  They could decorate it any way that they choose.  Of course me being a teacher I had the best idea:  I was thinking “N” for nest.  I had the idea of putting twigs all around it making the letter somehow look like a bird nest.  Of course my 6 year old shot that idea down real fast.  And she reminded me in her own words, “Mama, this is my project not yours”!  Of course, she was right so I said have at it.  So with a little help from her big sister {fourth grader} they came up with “N” is for neon.  Take a peek at their handy work.   Painted, glued and glittered all by herself.  I think it turned out pretty darn cute for a 6 year old.   She may turn out crafty after all.
My next shot is of our little pooch.  I never post anything about my pet.  But I decided to show you what our pup looks like.  She is a Westie that the girls begged for.  So good ole’ Santa brought them their wish and they named her Lola.  Don’t be fooled by the cute face, she can be a holy terror.   My oldest reminds me on a daily basis, “She is so bad, but so cute”!  I don’t know what Santa was thinking {I often give him a eye roll when the dog does something horrible – like eating my $60 sandals two days ago}.   Even though she drives me bonkers, I have to agree with the girls that she is a cutie {don’t tell them I said so}!
So dance is in full swing now that the school year is up and running.  This is my youngest with some of school buddies who also happen to be in her dance class {mine is the one in the green bow}!
My oldest is now in the performing group in dance{mine is the one in the yellow bow}.  Which means that she has more practices and performs a lot more.  This is a big deal to her, because she is finally old enough to participate.  Her first big performance is this Wednesday at the High School Jamboree.
So there you have a peek into some recent photos from last week.  I can’t wait to see your snapshots.  As always thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.

So what is this you might ask? It is my last minute version of a craft for Ground Hogโ€™s Day. I canโ€™t be the only one who decides the day of to do a craft and wing it, right? It looks more like a bear๐Ÿคฃbut it was suppose to be a groundhog with facts about Ground Hogโ€™s Day. No directions required just pull construction paper and glue. Youโ€™re welcome!๐Ÿ˜‰ ... One of my most favorite boards in my classroom is this ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป bulletin board right here! This is how it looks at the beginning of each year. As the year progresses I hang student art work and writings up. At the end of the year I take the work off and it is in order, neat and tidy, and students now have a portfolio of their best 2nd grade work. The bright folders I use to match my classroom theme are cut in half and the sign is just typed up in PowerPoint.

Here is a link to the bright file folders I used on this board (I use the extra folders to keep stuff stored in my filing cabinet): amzn.to/4mS2GhY
