Five for Friday

Whew, I am tired.   My class has been so rowdy this week.  I swear I felt like they were going to talk my ears off.  All week long we have had major nonstop talking issues.  It probably didn’t help that I am on a second sore throat in about a months time.  Well, mama said there would be days like this!!!!!

On to my Five for Friday!!

That’s right folks, I am planning a little early Christmas giveaway for no special reason!!!   Those are the best giveaways – right????   This past weekend my mom had their official Christmas open house at their gift shop.  This is a really big affair for her.  They have all the trees set up and it officially kicks of their Christmas season, which is big part of their income for the year.   I know what your thinking โ€ฆ  We haven’t even had Thanksgiving yet, but you can never plan to early to get a head start.   My mom’s gift store donated a bunch {I mean bunch} of really great prizes, all for you.  So stay tuned โ€ฆ…

This week a father dropped off a chrysalis that he found in his bushes.  The class and I have been watching and waiting patiently for it to come out!!

A little math fun this week!!!!

If you follow me then you read in one of my earlier Five for Friday post about how the kids are hooked on Rainbow Loom.  I am telling you this is the hot toy item this year.  If you are needing a gift for a boy or girl between the ages 7 -11 this is it.   Well this is the bracelet one of my students made.  She brought it in this morning.  It is a turkey.  I have know clue how she intertwined all the rubber bands together, but it really turned out cute!!

I found this image the other day while searching the web for an idea.  I am not sure who it is by, so if it is you let me know, I would love to give you credit.   It points out some really good ideas that you could incorporate into your everyday teaching!!!
Well that about wraps up my Five For Friday.  As always thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  I {heart} comments and followers!!!!

    Hi Jamie,

I know EXACTLY what you mean by talkative kids. Mine have been so talkative and wiggly too! I think it's a combination of Halloween and the time change.
I love that little turkey!! It's so cute.

So what is this you might ask? It is my last minute version of a craft for Ground Hogโ€™s Day. I canโ€™t be the only one who decides the day of to do a craft and wing it, right? It looks more like a bear๐Ÿคฃbut it was suppose to be a groundhog with facts about Ground Hogโ€™s Day. No directions required just pull construction paper and glue. Youโ€™re welcome!๐Ÿ˜‰ ... One of my most favorite boards in my classroom is this ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป bulletin board right here! This is how it looks at the beginning of each year. As the year progresses I hang student art work and writings up. At the end of the year I take the work off and it is in order, neat and tidy, and students now have a portfolio of their best 2nd grade work. The bright folders I use to match my classroom theme are cut in half and the sign is just typed up in PowerPoint.

Here is a link to the bright file folders I used on this board (I use the extra folders to keep stuff stored in my filing cabinet): amzn.to/4mS2GhY
