New Year’s Resolution {Linky}

I am linking up with First Grade Nest and A Peach for Teach for their New Year’s Resolution Linky parties!!!

A Personal Goal
One of my personal goals is to be stronger in my faith.  I want to read my bible a more, pray a little harder, participate in more church activities.  I want to be sure that I am giving the best of myself to my faith and not just the minimum.
Another Personal Goal
I really need to work on saving more money.  I would definitely say that out of my husband and I, that I am the spender.  I need to work on being more frugal and not purchasing things that really are not a necessity.  This includes things for myself, my children, and my classroom.  I probably spend a small fortune on my classroom every year.  I never really keep up with it all probably out of fear seeing how much I actually do spend.
Another Personal Goal
I would love for our family to eat out less and work out more.  Don’t get me wrong I do cook, probably more than a lot of people.  I would say on average we eat out about 3-4 meals a week.  Usually toward the weekend time frame.  I normally am good about cooking during the week but come Friday I am done.  Then I always find an excuse on Saturday and usually on Sundays we eat out after church.  I know that if we could cut some of those out it could help out with goal #2.  I would also like to work out more.  I am really bad about going through what I like to call “SPURTS”.  This is where I work out a few weeks then stop for a few weeks, then work out for a few weeks … well you get the idea.  I really could stand to get a routine down.
Another Personal Goal
I would love to be able to build my blog and TpT following in 2014.   I hope I can keep my creative juices flowing.
A Professional Goal
I am already an organized person for the most part.  Then only thing that lacks organization in my classroom is my art supplies.  It is in baskets but it all mixed together.  I want to separate all my supplies by categories like all buttons in a group, all pipe cleaners in a group.
Another Professional Goal

Since this is my states first year using Common Core I would really like to go even more in depth and learn what it truly all about.
So there you have my goals for 2014!!!  I can’t wait to read your goals for 2014.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  Be sure to link up.   I {heart} comments and followers!!

Save more money and eat out less…. Those are goals for me this year, too! Luckily, they kinda go hand-in hand. Eat out less = more money! 🙂

I enjoyed reading your resolutions! Thanks so much for linking up with me! I also want to start saving some more money. I'm going to try that 52 Week Money Challenge that's been floating around Pinterest and Facebook. Happy New Year!

My art supplies are very organized…because I rarely get most of them out. Ughh…I know…I need to add that to my list. Bring out the supplies and let them create their little hearts out! I'm a new follower!

I am so like you when it comes to eating out. My friends are actually jealous of me b/c I cook most nights (Sun-W normally). As it gets closer to the weekend and I've cooked 4 nights straight I want to grab something or go out so I don't have to cook and hubby doesn't have to clean up! But, we've decided to try to eat out once a week. Two yrs ago, we decided that we would eat healthy at all meals during the week and on 1 night, normally Saturday we could go out and eat anything we wanted. We did a good job at it for 7 months! We saved $300 to take with us on our trip to Florida and we both lost weight me (35lbs.) and hubby (45lbs.). Then, we went on va-cay and it went downhill!! We're back on it this year beginning Monday – first day back to work.

I am so bad about eating out…but hopefully my goal of losing weight will help me not to eat out as much…which will save me money…my goal number two! Ha! Good luck with yours this year!!

This is how many students act in 2026. Teachers will identify with every single one of the students I portray here. Funny teacher video.

So what is this you might ask? It is my last minute version of a craft for Ground Hog’s Day. I can’t be the only one who decides the day of to do a craft and wing it, right? It looks more like a bear🤣but it was suppose to be a groundhog with facts about Ground Hog’s Day. No directions required just pull construction paper and glue. You’re welcome!😉 ... See MoreSee Less

One of my most favorite boards in my classroom is this 👇🏻 bulletin board right here! This is how it looks at the beginning of each year. As the year progresses I hang student art work and writings up. At the end of the year I take the work off and it is in order, neat and tidy, and students now have a portfolio of their best 2nd grade work. The bright folders I use to match my classroom theme are cut in half and the sign is just typed up in PowerPoint.

Here is a link to the bright file folders I used on this board (I use the extra folders to keep stuff stored in my filing cabinet): amzn.to/4mS2GhY
